Your Question for the Week Q. With the strong push for acceptance of worldly views (homosexuality, freedom of religion, etc) how can I persuade my child to follow Christianity? How can I show Christian principles will solve modern day problems for my child? How can I grow my child interest in reading the bible?
A. First and foremost you should be an example of a Godly person. You are a mirror for your child. You should know what you believe and why. This is accomplished by studying the Bible. You can read Bible stories and other moral stories that have Christian Values, like the Bernstein Bears, to your child. As your child grows and is able, pray together! Do just as the Bible says in Deuteronomy 6:6 And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. Make reference to God, Jesus and His blessings in everything that you do. Just make it a part of your everyday life.
Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior…..teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children….. so that the word of God will not be dishonored. - Titus 2:3-5
